Woman dies at Cataract Falls

Cataract, Ind.  – Indiana Conservation Officers say they recovered the body of a 61-year-old woman at the Upper Falls in Cataract State Recreation Area Monday after she fell into the water at the bottom of the falls.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a release from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Her identity is being withheld until notifications can be made to the family.
The 911 call to Owen County Sheriff’s Department came in at 1:30 p.m.
Conservation Officers are investigating and an autopsy is being scheduled.
The Owen County Sheriff’s Department, Owen County Water Rescue, Cloverdale Fire Department, and Owen County Ambulance Service were all part of the response.
