Little Nashville

NASHVILLE- The Little Nashville Opry may be rebuilt. A sign at the site says “Opening in 2018”.

According to a news release $5 million in funding has been secured to rebuild the music venue which burned to the ground nearly eight years ago in an arson fire.

“The Little Nashville Opera house is a symbol and a beacon for historic musical venues for past, current and future generations to come,” says Andrew Bloom, a senior vice president at the financing firm.

Golden Gate CEO Christian Grey said that Bloom “was instrumental in organizing the capital structure and putting the pieces together for this very momentous and historic funding achievement.” He said the investment firm “worked with local business leaders, such as Scott Wayman, a local furniture store owner, in the greater Indianapolis region” to secure “worthwhile funding earmarked for improving the arts and community.”

Wayman, whose family owns Wayman’s Furniture & Appliances in Martinsville, confirmed the funding. He would not elaborate on plans or say when the project will start or be finished. ”

Wayman bought the six acres on Ind. 46 in Brown County for $57,630 at a tax sale in 2012.         http://www.littlenashvilleopry.net/
